BigBear.ai is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our IT Operations team to design, automate, and manage our modern enterprise infrastructure. The role emphasizes automation, Windows environments, and strong scripting to support end-user experience in a remote-first setting.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in infra roles, with experience in cloud/identity technologies and monitoring. This position supports a remote workforce with occasional onsite collaboration in the DMV area as needed.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in Systems Engineer, Network Engineer, Systems Administrator, or similar infra role.
Strong experience managing Windows enterprise environments; macOS a plus.
Networking: Routing, Switching, VLANs, Firewalls.
Advanced PowerShell scripting experience.
Python for automation and systems integration.
Experience administering enterprise endpoint, identity, or cloud platforms (Intune, M365, Entra ID).
Experience with lifecycle management of enterprise systems (deployment, patching, compliance).
Experience with monitoring platforms (RMM, network/infrastructure monitoring).
Knowledge of identity concepts (Entra ID, AD).
Experience documenting technical processes and runbooks.
Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
Remote-first environment experience.

Responsibilities

Engineer, deploy, and manage enterprise systems and endpoints (Windows required; macOS a plus).
Develop automation solutions to reduce manual effort and improve efficiency.
Create and maintain PowerShell and Python scripts for provisioning and integrations.
Support endpoint management tooling and policies (Intune, compliance, deployment).
Administer cloud/identity services (M365, Entra ID, Exchange Online).
Maintain monitoring and management platforms to proactively manage system health.
Build and maintain runbooks and SOPs for IT ops processes.
Collaborate with Security, Infrastructure, and Help Desk teams to improve reliability.
Participate in infrastructure projects and evaluate new technologies.
Troubleshoot complex systems, identity, network, and cloud platform issues.
