Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Sr Systems Engineer to provide high-level day-to-day operational support for complex application cloud systems on our VA team. This 100% remote role emphasizes outage detection, resolution, and collaboration with customers to ensure system reliability.

The position requires 8 years in systems engineering in production environments, strong Linux/Unix and Windows skills, and experience with AWS/Azure cloud services, scripting, and CI/CD tooling. Strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Detect, isolate, document, report, and resolve outages during operations of production systems.
• Document problems in logging and discrepancy tools.
• Collaborate with customers on day-to-day activities.
• Respond to user calls about hardware/software problems; escalate when needed.
• Perform maintenance/installation of computing infrastructure; manage assets.
• Support continuous improvement via IT processes and automation.
• Proactively ensure VA security policies are followed.
