Job summary

BigBear.ai is hiring for a Dev/Sec/Ops Platform Engineer who builds and maintains the platform foundation the system runs on, owning the event backbone, CI/CD pipelines, and the GovCloud hosting environment.

This role ensures reliability, security, and deployability so application, data, and scoring teams can move fast in a regulated environment. The position is remote with travel within the DMV area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 5–8 years of experience (Master's +3–6 years acceptable).
• 5+ years of DevOps / platform engineering in a government cloud environment.
• Experience with event streaming architecture (Kafka) and production support.
• Infrastructure as code with Pulumi/Terraform/Ansible; strong config management.
• Hands-on experience in AWS GovCloud or Azure Government; Kubernetes expert.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate the event backbone and CI/CD pipelines.
• Provision and manage GovCloud/IL5 hosting and IaC for cloud resources.
• Deploy and operate Kubernetes platforms with reliable workloads.
• Establish observability, runbooks, and incident response support.
• Collaborate on platform security controls and patching cadence.
