Job summary

Leidos Defense Sector is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to provide research and development support to the Propulsion Development Branch, DEVCOM Armaments Center, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ. You will guide multidisciplinary teams through formal reviews, manage risk, and plan SE execution with MS Project, delivering technical data packages, dashboards, and executive briefings.

Requirements include BS in an engineering discipline, 10+ years of experience, strong communication, and US

Qualifications

BS in Aerospace, Mechanical, Systems, or related engineering; MS preferred.
10+ years of relevant experience.
Expert knowledge of system engineering principles and practices.
High level of expertise with MS Project, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

Define requirements, perform functional decomposition, and conduct trade studies to mature concepts to prototype.
Optimize system design and balance TPMs against cost and schedule.
Plan and manage SE execution in MS Project; build WBS, schedule critical paths, track milestones.
Lead IPTs through SRR/PDR/CDR/TRR/PRR and drive data package creation and issue resolution.
Identify and manage technical and programmatic risks; develop burn-down and mitigation plans.
Oversee end-to-end prototyping and testing, including M&S coordination and test reporting.
Use Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Power BI to produce reports, dashboards, and briefing materials.
