Job summary

Leidos in New Jersey seeks an experienced Engineer to provide R&D support to the Propulsion Development Branch, DEVCOM Armaments Center, Picatinny Arsenal. You will design, prototype, test, and analyze propulsion technologies and document results.

The role requires leading small teams in IPT settings, performing DOEs, simulations, and trade studies, and communicating findings to engineers and leadership; willingness to travel to project sites up to 50% is expected.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in engineering; mechanical or chemical preferred.
• Experience leading small engineering teams in IPT environments.
• Proven ability to define tasks, manage schedules, and track resources.
• Experience with DOEs, modeling & simulation, and test planning.

Responsibilities

• Research, design, and develop new propulsion-related products and processes.
• Conduct trade studies, define specs, prototype, test, and analyze data.
• Prepare technical reports and present findings to senior engineers.
• Lead or contribute to IPT tasks, and manage project plans and risks.
• Travel to project sites up to 50% and coordinate with diverse teams.
