Job summary

Leidos Defense Systems Sector is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to lead a team of systems engineers developing an interceptor system. The Senior Systems Engineer will guide the systems engineering effort, creating and reviewing SEMP, CONOPS, Requirements Specifications, ICDs, and MBSE content.

Ideal candidates have a strong background in traditional systems engineering and technical leadership, with MBSE and DoD program experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university with 12+ years of experience or an MS with 10+ years.
Experience deriving requirements for integration, manufacturing, and production systems.
Ability to work in a collaborative engineering environment with multi-disciplinary teams.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively within a team environment.
Resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
Possess a secret clearance, or ability to obtain a secret clearance.

Responsibilities

Lead a team of systems engineers developing an interceptor system.
Develop and review systems engineering artifacts (SEMP, CONOPS, Requirements Specifications, Verification Plan, ICDs, Engineering Reports, MBSE content).
Work in a matrixed organization across multiple programs and engineering fields.
Prefer candidates with MBSE, testing, risk management, and reliability experience; traditional systems engineering and leadership are required.
