Job summary

Leidos in New Jersey is seeking an experienced Engineer to support propulsion development at Picatinny Arsenal. You will research, design, and advance new products, perform trade studies, run simulations, and develop prototypes with frequent field testing.

You’ll communicate findings through reports and briefings to senior staff. Applicants should have a BS/ MS in engineering and 10+ years of relevant experience, including DOE, prototyping, and IPT collaboration.

Qualifications

• BS/ MS degree in engineering, preferably mechanical or chemical engineering.
• 10+ years of relevant experience in engineering.
• Experience developing prototypes and conducting DOE and subscale/full-scale testing.
• Ability to lead teams within an IPT environment and manage schedules.
• Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
• US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Research, design, and develop new products and processes using engineering principles.
• Conduct trade studies, design specifications, prototypes, lab/field testing, and report analysis.
• Provide courses of action recommendations and perform technical analyses.
• Incorporate statistical analysis, modeling, and simulation for performance assessments.
• Engage with diverse teams and visit project sites as needed (up to ~50%).
• Document progress and produce technical reports for senior engineers.
