Job summary

Leidos in Albuquerque, NM seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to drive development, fabrication, integration, testing and deployment of advanced hardware for DoD customers. You will lead designs from concept through detailed engineering and work closely with machinists, fabricators, and vendors to deliver robust, manufacturable systems.

The role requires a BS Mechanical Engineering with 8+ years (or MSME with 6+ years), strong SolidWorks skills, and the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance.

Qualifications

• BSME with 8+ years of experience or MSME with 6+ years of experience.
• U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain DoD Secret security clearance.
• Experience developing mechanical hardware from concept through design, fabrication, assembly, integration and testing.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks and detailed engineering drawings; PDMWorks experience.

Responsibilities

• Create 3D models and mechanical designs through fabrication, assembly, integration and testing.
• Perform engineering analysis to support design decisions and verify performance.
• Create and maintain engineering drawings with tolerances and manufacturing requirements.
• Design for manufacturability including material selection and fabrication processes.
• Collaborate with machinists, fabricators and vendors to procure and support hardware.
• Lead and troubleshoot mechanical subsystems and projects to meet schedules.
