Job summary

Helixstorm Inc. in Costa Mesa, CA seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to manage alerts, backups, and VMware environments while supporting Office 365 and Azure integrations. The role involves coordinating with the help desk, performing routine system maintenance, and contributing to infrastructure projects.

You will work in a managed services setting, ensuring rapid response, accurate documentation, and proactive problem management across on-premises and cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• Seven years of hands-on experience administering either a Microsoft and/or VMware computing environment with recent support of Microsoft Office 365 and/or Azure deployments.
• Experience with VMware, Enterprise Storage, Converged/Hyper-converged infrastructure, Linux networks, Networking, and Firewalls a big plus.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; team player; willingness to work weekends/off-hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Resolve systems-generated alerts including monitoring of backup environments, VMware environments, patch management, and other projects.
• Escalation point for the help desk team and handling calls during high-volume periods.
• Perform regular maintenance tasks on managed devices (Firewalls, Switches, Routers, Servers) as directed.
• Manage and maintain customer backup environments and perform periodic reviews and trial restores.
• Setup, configuration, and ongoing management of Helixstorm RMM tools during onboarding.
• Coordinate with internal resources and third-party providers to resolve issues.
