Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems seeks a Sr. Staff Systems Engineer (level 6) to join the Sentinel Systems Engineering, Integration, & Test team in Huntsville, AL. Lead external interfaces and drive system integration across a multi-tier, multi-disciplined team while ensuring technical rigor and program objectives.

The role requires strong leadership, extensive SE/ESI experience, and the ability to coordinate with customer counterparts and internal stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship with an active Secret clearance (or Continuous Evaluation).
• 14 years of STEM experience with a Bachelor’s, 12 years with a Master’s, or 10 years with a PhD.
• Ability to obtain and maintain SAP/PAR.
• 8–10 years with Product Owner/Manager responsibilities.
• 8–10 years in ICBM (MMIII or Sentinel) or similar aerospace/defense systems.
• 4 years in large-scale, multi-phase system development.
• 1 year with Systems Engineering milestone events (PDR/CDR).
• 1 year of working with external customers to meet program expectations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Prime Technical Lead/RE for a Mission Integration Thread (facilities, data, networks, SW/HW, or flight test).
• Provide oversight and accountability of ESI content for technical rigor and quality.
• Mentor and lead other ESI team members in technical work.
• Interface with Customer Chief Engineers and participate in technical reviews.
• Lead integration activities across systems-of-systems for effective communication.
• Assist in tracking with DOORS, CAMEO, CPLM/TeamCenter.
• Develop system engineering artifacts like requirement specs and interface documents.
• Collaborate across NG, SPO, and mission partners in a fast-paced environment.
