Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems seeks a Sr. Staff (level 6) Systems Engineer to join the Sentinel Systems Engineering team in Roy, UT.

You will lead a team of SMT Tech Leads, guiding design changes and coordinating with suppliers to meet program goals while balancing cost and schedule. Responsibilities include establishing best practices, aligning technical objectives with leadership, and providing oversight across program operating units.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline with 14+ years, or Master’s with 12+ years, or PhD with 10+ years of related engineering experience.
5 years minimum leading technical teams/organizations to achieve goals.
Experience with the systems engineering “V” lifecycle and requirements to acceptance testing.
Experience in managing a technical baseline and systems engineering milestones.
Experience working with suppliers on development programs and aerospace-related tech.

Responsibilities

Provide leadership and technical guidance to SMT Leads and teams.
Lead collaboration across SMTs and establish CONOPS and templates.
Align supplier technical objectives with program cost and schedule.
Oversee early-phase design changes to minimize supplier cost/schedule impacts.
Act as primary SMT focal point for change and TRB activities.
Review proposed changes for supplier impact and balance technical needs with cost and schedule.
