Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems in Aurora, CO is seeking a Systems Engineer - Level 5 to own the system baseline, ensuring consistency between CONOPS, requirements, design, and test. You will coordinate cross-discipline teams and translate mission threads into concrete requirements and designs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 12 years of experience or advanced degrees with corresponding experience.
• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance required at time of application.
• Experience with system requirements and ICDs.
• Ability to perform requirements analysis, allocation, and traceability.
• Ability to specify and validate cloud deployment related requirements.
• Clear technical documentation creation (requirements, interfaces, diagrams).
• Familiarity with reading/creating MBSE models (CAMEO/DOORS/MBSE).
• Preferred: distributed systems or cloud-native experience, security in cloud containers.

Responsibilities

• Serve as system engineering focal point across program lifecycle.
• Own the system technical baseline; ensure CONOPS–requirements–design–test alignment.
• Coordinate cross-discipline teams to resolve issues and drive decisions.
• Capture mission threads and translate into requirements and design.
• Lead requirements development with customers and stakeholders.
• Develop integration strategies, V&V plans, and detailed test procedures.
• Use modeling, simulation, and MBSE artifacts for design decisions.
• Identify risks and track mitigation plans; present results to leadership.
• Support proposals and basis-of-estimate development for new bids.
