Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSP) seeks a Systems Engineer at either Level 3 or Level 4, based in Aurora, CO. The role centers on owning the system baseline, aligning CONOPS, requirements, design and test, and coordinating cross-discipline teams to deliver robust solutions for high-visibility programs.

Responsibilities include leading requirements development with customers, defining integration and V&V plans, and crafting detailed test procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 5+ years of relevant experience or Master’s with 3+ years or PhD with 1+ years.
• Active TS clearance with SCI eligibility required at time of application.
• Experience with system requirements and interface control documents (ICDs).
• Ability to perform requirements analysis, allocation, and traceability from high-level needs to components/services.
• Ability to specify and validate requirements for build, deployment, and rollback in a cloud environment.
• Ability to create clear technical documentation (requirements, interface specs, sequence diagrams, data flow diagrams).
• Familiarity with reading/creating/interpreting CAMEO/DOORS/MBSE models.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the systems engineering focal point across program lifecycle.
• Own the system technical baseline; ensure CONOPS, requirements, design and test alignment.
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams to resolve issues and drive decisions.
• Capture mission threads, user workflows, and constraints for requirements/design.
• Lead requirements development with customers and stakeholders; clarify needs and constraints.
• Develop integration strategies, V&V plans, and detailed test procedures at system/subsystem levels.
• Use modeling/simulation/MBSE artifacts to support decisions and trade studies.
• Identify technical risks and opportunities; track mitigation plans.
• Present approaches, status, and results to leadership and customers.
• Support proposals, basis-of-estimate development, and technical volumes.
