Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSP) in Aurora, CO is seeking a Systems Engineer - Level 5 to own the system baseline and coordinate across systems, software, hardware, test, and operations. You will translate mission needs into requirements and design, driving trade studies and verification.

The role requires a STEM degree with many years of experience, an active TS/SCI clearance, and strong capabilities in MBSE, ICDs, and requirements management.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in STEM with required experience or advanced degree with lower experience threshold or PhD with more experience.
• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance is required at time of application.
• Experience with system requirements and ICDs, traceability from needs to components.
• Ability to specify and validate build/deploy/rollback in cloud environments.
• Ability to produce clear technical documentation and MBSE artifacts.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical focal point across program lifecycle.
• Own system baseline ensuring CONOPS, requirements, design, and test alignment.
• Coordinate cross-discipline teams to resolve issues and drive decisions.
• Translate mission threads and constraints into requirements and design.
• Lead requirements development with customers and stakeholders; manage constraints.
• Develop integration strategies, V&V plans, and detailed tests.
• Use modeling/simulation and MBSE artifacts for design decisions and trade studies.
• Identify risks, craft mitigation plans, and present results to leadership and customers.
• Support proposals and technical volumes for new business or modifications.
