Job summary

MKS Instruments seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to lead development across ozone, remote plasma sources, and electro‑mechanical subsystems. You will guide system integration, verification, and DVT plans while coordinating with Electrical, Software, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Quality and Compliance teams.

You will drive technical issue resolution, develop project schedules and risk mitigation plans, and communicate progress to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical or systems engineering or similar.
• 5+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field.
• Ability to understand and manage tradeoffs between cost, performance, and schedules.
• Experience with analog and digital design circuitry and system integration.
• Strong technical communication skills (verbal, written, presentation).
• Eligible to work in the United States; visa sponsorship not provided.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical planning activities, including scope definition, effort estimation, milestone tracking, and status reporting.
• Scope market requirements with Product Marketing and applications teams.
• Create system-level engineering design specifications and project scope documents.
• Develop and execute system integration, verification, and DVT plans.
• Drive technical issue resolution, root cause investigations, and corrective actions.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams across Electrical, Software, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Quality and Compliance Engineering.
• Manage project schedules, resources, dependencies and risk mitigation.
• Ensure projects are executed on time while meeting performance, quality, regulatory, and cost objectives.
• Prepare and present technical updates, program reviews, risk assessments, and executive-level communications.
