Job summary

MKS Instruments is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to lead the development of next-generation technologies across ozone, remote plasma sources, and electro-mechanical subsystems in Wilmington, MA, with a portion in Methuen, MA.

You will guide system design, verification, and DVT planning, while coordinating across Electrical, Software, Mechanical, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to meet cost, schedule, and regulatory objectives. Strong communication and FMEA skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical or systems engineering or similar with 5+ years of experience.
• Experience with analog and digital design circuitry, proper test methodology, and systems integration.
• Experience creating and executing system integration, integrating electromechanical systems, and DVT plans.
• Strong technical communication skills and ability to manage tradeoffs between cost, performance, and schedules.
• Eligible to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship for this position.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical planning activities, including scope definition, effort estimation, milestone tracking, and status reporting.
• Collaborate with Product Marketing and applications team to scope market requirements and customer needs.
• Create system-level engineering design specifications and project scope documents.
• Develop and execute system integration, verification, and DVT plans.
• Drive technical issue resolution, root cause investigations, and corrective action implementation.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams including Electrical, Software, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Quality, and Compliance Engineering.
• Manage technical project schedules, deliverables, resource planning, dependencies, and risk mitigation.
• Ensure projects are executed on time while meeting performance, quality, regulatory, and cost objectives.
• Prepare and present technical updates, program reviews, risk assessments, and executive-level communications to stakeholders.
