Job summary

Nova Biomedical is seeking a hands-on Senior Systems Engineer to lead development, integration and ownership of advanced laboratory instrumentation. You will drive technical investigations and work with mechanical, electrical, software, and verification teams throughout the product lifecycle.

Ideal candidates bring strong systems thinking, excellent troubleshooting, and a passion for robust, reliable instruments.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of engineering experience developing complex products or instrumentation systems.
• Experience leading technical investigations from problem identification through resolution and implementation of corrective actions.
• Experience using experimental methods and engineering studies to evaluate system performance, reliability, and technical risk.
• Experience integrating and troubleshooting multidisciplinary systems involving mechanical, electrical, software, thermal, or fluidic subsystems.
• Experience translating user needs, design goals, and technical constraints into engineering requirements and verification approaches.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and integration of complex subsystems and system-level features for laboratory instrumentation.
• Develop, refine, and maintain system and subsystem requirements.
• Design and execute experiments, test plans, protocols, and engineering studies to evaluate feasibility and characterize system performance.
• Analyze results to identify root causes, improve system reliability, and retire technical risks.
• Support system architecture activities, interface definition, technical trade studies, and risk management throughout product development.
