Job summary

WOOD Federal Solutions seeks a senior Systems Engineer Level 6 (JIRA & Release Support) to provide forward-deployed systems engineering within a mission-focused software environment. You will be embedded with an Agile team handling JIRA administration, release management, testing, and documentation while coordinating with customers.

The role demands strong customer engagement, hands-on experience in Agile/SAFe environments, and the ability to document releases and deliver user-facing materials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering field or related discipline with 20 years of systems engineering experience (or alternatives).
• Twenty-four years of general systems engineering experience with HS diploma as alternative.
• Master’s or PhD with 18 years of systems engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME in ISO/IEC 15288 process areas.
• Analyze processes to identify inefficiencies and risks.
• Develop improved processes, workflows, and operating practices.
• Apply Agile, SAFe, Lean Six Sigma to enterprise challenges.
• Facilitate workshops and improvement activities with stakeholders.
• Support teams in implementing Agile and SAFe practices.
• Create process maps, dashboards, and related artifacts.
• Use JIRA/Confluence to support workflow, tracking, and reporting.
• Assess performance with quantitative and qualitative measures.
• Identify root causes and recommend actions.
