Job summary

WOOD Federal Solutions is seeking a senior Systems Engineer to support enterprise process improvement and transformation in a complex mission environment. The role requires deep ISO/IEC 15288 process knowledge, extensive Agile/SAFe experience, Lean Six Sigma methods, and the ability to work with technical teams and senior stakeholders to drive disciplined processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field or related discipline with extensive systems engineering experience.
• Twenty (20) years of systems engineering experience with a bachelor’s degree; or
• Twenty-four (24) years of general systems engineering experience with a high school diploma; or
• Eighteen (18) years with a master’s/PhD in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME in ISO/IEC 15288 process areas.
• Analyze current processes to identify inefficiencies and risks.
• Develop and recommend improved processes and operating practices.
• Apply Agile, SAFe, Lean Six Sigma to enterprise challenges.
• Facilitate workshops and reviews with stakeholders at multiple levels.
• Support teams in maturing Agile and SAFe practices.
• Create process maps, dashboards, and artifacts.
• Use JIRA and Confluence for workflow management and documentation.
• Assess performance using quantitative and qualitative metrics.
• Identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Deliver work products across ISO/IEC 15288 areas.
• Plan and support enterprise-level initiatives.
• Resolve complex issues with advanced judgment.
• Brief leadership on performance and status.
• Collaborate with engineers, teams, and customers to support objectives.
• Support change management and adoption of new processes.
• Maintain clear process documentation and training materials.
• Mentor teams on process-improvement practices.
