Job summary

Intuit is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to own the health of the sending fleet and scale Mailchimp's infrastructure. You will work on AWS-based platforms, MTA configurations, and CI/CD pipelines, delivering reliable, secure deployments at scale.

The role emphasizes hands-on systems work, collaboration with global teams, and using AI tooling to improve operations while maintaining high reliability.

Qualifications

• 7+ years engineering experience in systems, infra, or platform engineering for large-scale services.
• Strong Linux administration and Unix CLI with production fleet experience.
• Hands-on AWS experience: compute, AMIs, autoscaling, networking, cost-aware operations.
• IaC and configuration management experience (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet).
• CI/CD pipelines, artifacts, containers, and orchestration (Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes).
• Read/write code; Python and PHP core; Go/ C++/ Perl a plus.
• MTA software (Postfix, PowerMTA, Momentum) or similar scale experience.
• DNS, networking, and email authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC).
• Relational and in-memory stores (MySQL, Redis; PostgreSQL a plus).
• Observability tooling (BigQuery, OpenSearch, Splunk).
• Git-based workflows and AI-native tooling familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate the AWS cloud infrastructure for the sending fleet.
• Develop and manage IaC to provision and maintain scalable environments.
• Design system architecture across the sending path, incl. networking and security.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines and release automation (Jenkins, ArgoCD-based delivery).
• Configure and tune Docker/Kubernetes-based deployments and orchestration.
• Tune MTA software and host parameters for throughput and delivery.
• Participate in on-call rotations to handle production issues.
• Monitor systems with dashboards and alerts (BigQuery, OpenSearch, Splunk).
• Write automation tooling to streamline provisioning and operations.
• Deliver major platform features with risk management and timely communication.
