Job summary

Intuit is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer for the Delivery team to own and scale Mailchimp-like sending infrastructure. You will manage AWS-based fleet, MTA, and deployment pipelines, with hands-on experience in Linux, automation, and observability.

You will work cross-functionally to ensure reliability, efficiency, and security while leveraging AI-native tooling to improve operations. Strong scripting and cloud experience are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science or a related field.
• 7+ years of engineering experience focused on systems, infrastructure, or platform engineering for large-scale distributed or high-throughput services.
• Strong Linux administration and Unix command-line skills.
• hands-on experience with AWS including compute, autoscaling, networking, and cost-aware operation.
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code and configuration management (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet).
• Experience with CI/CD and delivery automation (Jenkins), containers (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Able to read and write code to build tooling; Python and PHP are core; Go/C/C++/Perl are a bonus.
• Experience with MTA software or similar Linux-based server applications at scale.
• Knowledge of DNS, email authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC).
• Observability experience with metrics, dashboards, alerting (BigQuery, OpenSearch, Splunk).
• Familiarity with AI-native tooling and agent-based workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate AWS cloud infrastructure and the sending fleet across environments.
• Develop and manage Infrastructure-as-Code to provision and maintain environments.
• Design system architecture across the sending path including networking and security.
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines and release automation (Jenkins, RPM packaging, Kubernetes/ArgoCD).
• Configure and maintain Docker and Kubernetes environments.
• Tune MTA software and host parameters for throughput and delivery behavior.
• Participate in on-call rotation and monitor production systems.
• Own metrics, dashboards, and alerting for fleet health (BigQuery, OpenSearch, Splunk).
• Write automation tooling to streamline provisioning and operations.
