Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Rochester, NY is seeking a Senior Specialist in Systems Engineering to lead the design, development, integration and testing of EO/IR and related systems. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams in engineering, manufacturing and program management to deliver high-performance systems for airborne and ground surveillance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required with minimum 6 years of relevant experience; graduate degree with at least 4 years; in lieu of a degree, 10 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Design/develop system architectures, define key capabilities and performance requirements
• Define total systems design and technology that meet mission requirements
• Define system implementation approach and operational concepts
• Develop models and architectural guidelines for future technologies
• Ensure requirements are met and evaluate performance measures
• Perform system and subsystem integration, technical risk assessment, planning, verification, and validation
• Understand and implement systems engineering processes on programs and projects
• Create/update engineering documents including specifications, reports, plans, memos, and presentations
• Coordinate with other engineers to develop/test products and resolve interface problems
• Provide timely production support and problem resolution
• Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance
