Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Rochester, NY is seeking a Senior Specialist, Electrical Engineering to design, develop, integrate, and test embedded controls for EO/IR systems. You will work in a cross-functional team to define interfaces between hardware and software and ensure performance against stringent requirements.

Responsibilities include circuit design, power distribution, signal integrity, PCB layout, and test equipment development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent (8+ years experience) or graduate degree (6+ years)
• 14 years of related experience in lieu of a degree
• Experience in high-performance embedded systems design preferred

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, evaluate, integrate & test electronic equipment and circuitry for high-performance systems.
• Allocate system requirements to electronic specifications and create block diagrams.
• Develop production test equipment hardware and software.
• Analyze electrical requirements within time and cost constraints.
• Select components based on reliability and specs.
• Diagnose faults and suggest design changes to improve performance.
• Review vendor capabilities for connectors, processors, FPGAs, DSPs, power supplies, and amplifiers.
• Collaborate with procurement to build prototype harnesses and boards.
• Perform unit testing of hardware products.
• Ensure conformance to internal processes and security clearance readiness.
