Job summary

Teledyne Energetics in California seeks a System Engineer to lead requirements review and tracking, system design, and interface definition for new and existing products. You will coordinate design efforts, conduct design reviews, and ensure verification and documentation meet program goals.

The role requires hands-on embedded software experience, strong debugging skills, and mentoring ability while applying DO-178C/DO-254 guidance and test standards.

Qualifications

• BS in System Engineering or equivalent ABET-accredited program.
• 5+ years of System Engineering experience in defense/aerospace programs.
• Embedded software design experience.
• Experience with Green Hills Integrity is a plus.
• Ability to generate engineering documentation (specifications, matrices, reports).
• Familiarity with DO-160, MIL-STD-810 and MIL-STD-461 test requirements; DO-178C/DO-254 guidance.

Responsibilities

• System-level architectural design (HW and SW) and interfaces definition.
• Translate high-level requirements into derived requirements and plans.
• Create requirements verification matrices and track requirements.
• Perform root-cause analysis and provide corrective actions.
• Embedded coding and debugging for embedded software.
• Lead SDRLs/analyses and discussions with customers and vendors.
• Prepare and conduct design reviews.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement.
