Job summary

SimVentions is seeking a mid-level to senior software-focused Systems Engineer for software systems engineering across aviation programs. The role requires full-time on-site presence at the NAVAIR base in Pax River, MD, and an ACTIVE Secret Clearance. The position is future funded and targets a September 1, 2026 start.

Responsibilities include developing software requirements, coordinating with vendors, and supporting system reviews and ECP processes in a secure, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• At least ten years of experience performing software and systems engineering activities.
• Experience with military aircraft avionic systems and/or software.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software requirements.
• Review and evaluate vendor software specifications.
• Coordinate with vendors on software and system integration.
• Conduct analysis of software defects.
• Coordinate with cybersecurity subject matter experts.
• Participate in System Engineering Technical Reviews (SRRs, SSRs, PDRs, CDRs, TRRs).
• Support the ECP process and prepare SOWs/CDRLs.
• Develop IGCEs and support evaluations of proposals.

Education

BS in a technical discipline (ABET-accredited)
