Job summary

Blue River Technology seeks a Senior Systems Engineer for its autonomous construction initiative. You will own the requirements lifecycle across hardware, software, and ML components, driving a robust V&V strategy and building simulation tools to ensure safe, reliable operation in complex environments.

You will work across hardware, software, ML, and safety domains, bridging gaps between researchers, engineers, and safety managers.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Systems Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science, or related field.
• 5+ years in systems engineering for safety-critical cyber-physical systems.
• Proven track record designing, documenting, and executing robust V&V programs.
• Strong scripting or programming skills in Python, C++, MATLAB/Simulink.
• Experience with Jama, DOORS, Jira for requirements management.

Responsibilities

• Own the requirements lifecycle across hardware, software, and ML components.
• Maintain traceability from high-level concepts to tests and specs.
• Design, document, and execute verification and validation plans (simulated and field).
• Develop, script, and maintain custom simulation tools and validation frameworks.
• Contribute to risk analyses (FMEA, FTA, HARA) for robust safety.
• Collaborate across ML researchers, embedded software, hardware, and safety teams.
