Job summary

Bedrock Robotics is seeking Senior and Staff Software Engineers to architect, build, and own major areas of the embedded safety controller that interfaces with heavy machinery. You will tackle drivers, RTOS bring-up, and applications with a focus on deterministic real-time execution.

Qualifications

• Experience building and shipping embedded systems in robotics, automotive, drones, or other safety-critical embedded contexts.
• Strong embedded programming skills in C++ or Rust, plus fluency in Python for scripting and analysis.
• Solid foundation building software for resource-constrained systems with real-time requirements.
• Comfortable developing, automating, and debugging across the hardware/software boundary.
• Track record of leading projects, driving design decisions, and working effectively across hardware, autonomy, and platform teams.

Responsibilities

• Architect and own major areas of the embedded safety controller, from drivers and RTOS bring-up through applications and system integration.
• Develop across the full embedded software stack, spanning drivers, RTOS, communication, middleware, and applications.
• Interface with and control a broad range of heavy machinery across machine types and manufacturers, and design abstractions for flexibility and portability.
• Extend the platform to embedded devices in the field, such as power management, sensor cleaning, and lighting, to endure long deployments in harsh conditions.
