Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. is seeking a Linux Administrator in Washington, DC. You will install, configure, and secure Linux servers, monitor performance, and automate tasks to support enterprise IT and DoD-grade environments.

You will work with IaC/CaC tools and CI/CD pipelines, ensuring reliability and secure software delivery. A Top Secret/SCI eligible clearance and US citizenship are required, with onsite location in the DC area.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
At least 5 years hands-on Linux system administration in enterprise environments.
Strong knowledge of major Linux distributions and admin tasks.
Proficient in scripting to automate routine tasks.
Familiarity with containerization platforms from an operations perspective.
Exposure to DevSecOps concepts and secure software delivery practices.
Experience with IaC/CaC tools and configuration management.
Solid networking fundamentals and Linux service knowledge.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, harden, and maintain Linux servers and services.
Monitor performance, diagnose issues, and ensure reliability and scalability.
Apply regular updates, patches, and security configurations.
Use scripts and automation tools to streamline admin tasks.
Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues with cross-team collaboration.
Maintain IaC/CaC solutions and related configurations.
Maintain CI/CD pipelines and ensure environment consistency.
Keep accurate system documentation and change records.
