Job summary

The SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF) in Syracuse, NY invites qualified applications for the position of Senior Systems Developer. The role focuses on Ellucian Banner, Degree Works, and related systems to support daily business functions and reporting needs.

Under the IT/ Information Systems unit, the Senior Systems Developer will join a multi-functional team, with hybrid work options.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related area.
• At least three to four years of applicable programming experience with progression in responsibilities.
• Experience with Ellucian Banner tables and/or administrative computing.
• Experience with Oracle SQL, PL/SQL or other SQL platforms.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for Ellucian Banner and associated enterprise applications.
• Automation of Ellucian Banner and external processes using Automic, Batch, Powershell, CRON, etc.
• Patch management for Ellucian Banner.
• Writing and maintaining PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, Oracle SQL & MS-SQL extracts, scripts, reports, queries, and various other SQL requests.
• Primary technical support of Ellucian Degree Works.
• Primary technical support and administration of eVisions Argos.
• Primary technical support of Student Academic records, as well as related state/federal reporting and filings (Clearinghouse, SIRIS reporting).
• Assist with day-to-day production troubleshooting and resolve urgent programmatic issues by triaging and resolving help desk tickets assigned to Information Systems.
• Generate and maintain technical documentation.
• Work with third party contacts to update and maintain external systems.
• Collaborating with Information Technology staff members in the introduction of new technologies and support of students and staff.
