Job summary

Southern New Hampshire University is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support the Student Information System (SIS) and related enterprise applications. You will troubleshoot complex issues, optimize data flows, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable student data services.

You will work with Ellucian Banner, APIs, and middleware while balancing immediate production needs with longer-term improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in computer science, information technology, or related field.
• 4+ years of experience supporting enterprise applications, systems, integrations, or similar environments.
• Strong troubleshooting across multiple technology layers and production systems.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases.
• Experience with APIs, web services, data integrations, and enterprise interfaces.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced production support for the SIS and related enterprise applications, including troubleshooting complex issues across applications, databases, and integrations.
• Serve as SME for the SIS and ecosystem of applications and services supporting University operations.
• Maintain and troubleshoot integrations between SIS and other systems using APIs, web services, middleware, and database interfaces.
• Analyze complex issues to identify root causes; collaborate with developers, DBAs, and infrastructure teams to resolve issues.
• Develop technical documentation, system diagrams, and operational procedures; support system upgrades and deployments.
• Participate in incident response, change management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
