Job summary

Stormentum Inc. seeks a Staff Systems Design Architect to lead system-level architecture for a modular power electronics platform, interfacing with energy storage, data centers, and the grid.

You will translate requirements into hardware, firmware, and controls specs and guide hardware and firmware teams through design, integration, and production. You will own system-level trade-offs, run simulations, and shepherd 3rd-party integrations and certifications, collaborating with multiple

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics is required.
• 5+ years of experience in electrical systems design, including a full product cycle from concept to production.
• Deep experience integrating power electronics with grid, energy storage, data centers, or microgrids.
• Experience with high-voltage power conversion systems (>=400 V).
• Experience with system-level electrical physics models (MATLAB/Simulink) and topology analysis.
• Breadth across HV, LV, mechanical, thermal, and communications domains.
• Familiarity with UL/IEC standards and grid standards.

Responsibilities

• Define and decompose system-level requirements into hardware, firmware, controls, and integration specs.
• Develop and maintain system block diagrams and interface control documents.
• Define system-level performance and safety test requirements and support automated test equipment development.
• Own architectural trade-offs across HV, LV, mechanical, and communications domains.
• Lead design reviews and risk assessments across subsystems and support DFMEA/PFMEA.
• Design system integration architecture connecting Stormentum’s platform with energy storage, generators, data centers, and the grid.
• Run system-level simulations to evaluate design options and guide decisions.
• Lead product through 3rd-party integrations and support certification (UL and grid codes).
• Serve as primary technical liaison translating customer/regulatory requirements into engineering direction.
• Handoff from design to manufacturing ensuring production-ready designs.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, firmware, controls, and hardware teams.
