Job summary

Base is seeking a senior electronics design engineer to own the electrical architecture of energy storage systems, including inverters, batteries, and interconnect devices, from concept to high-volume production. This is a foundational leadership role and you will define how Base builds reliable, cost-efficient, high-performance batteries and inverters.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of electrical system design experience.
• Experience taking complex electrical products from architecture through production ramp and field deployment.
• Strong PCB design and hands-on bring-up skills (solder, probe, wire, debug).
• Ability to write/run transient thermal simulations in MATLAB or Python.
• Familiarity with embedded systems, MCUs, peripherals, and scripting for testing.
• Knowledge of control theory as applied to power conversion (loop, bandwidth, filtering).
• Experience with automotive/industrial protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
• Proven track record leading/mentoring engineers.

Responsibilities

• Set the electrical architecture and technical direction for Base's full product line (inverters, BMS, interconnect devices).
• Build, mentor, and lead a team of electrical engineers with high design rigor and documentation.
• Drive LV embedded systems and power converter design and validation across the portfolio.
• Collaborate across firmware, mechanical, test, reliability, and manufacturing to move products to production.
• Own production end-of-line testers.
• Debug and resolve complex system-level electrical issues across power, control, and communication domains.
• Champion continuous product improvement using field data and manufacturing feedback.
