Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions (ACS) is seeking a Systems Architect in Valley Green, PA to lead architectural design for high-speed backplane connectors and translate customer needs into robust connector solutions.

You will guide roadmaps with SI/engineering, mechanical, and product management, align with IEEE/CEI standards, and present technical strategies to executives while collaborating across Amphenol’s interconnect portfolio. Some travel is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• 10+ years of hardware/interconnect experience in IT/Datacom
• Strong system-level design and communication with stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural design for customer solutions involving Amphenol’s high speed backplane connectors (board-to-board, hybrid)
• Translate system requirements (channel budget, SI/PI, mechanical density, thermal) into connector architecture direction
• Guide the HSBP product roadmap with SI engineering, mechanical design, and product management, aligning with standards (IEEE 802.3dj, OIF CEI-112G/224G)
• Prepare and deliver high-level technical presentations to key stakeholders, including executives
• Provide advanced technical support on complex backplane interconnect problems
• Communicate differentiation strategy for HSBP products vs competitors
• Partner with other business units to ensure a consistent systems-level narrative
• Some travel required
