About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior System Architect to join our on-site IT team in the DC area. This role is critical in designing, implementing, and maintaining our enterprise systems infrastructure—including servers, networking, storage, virtualization, and cloud services. You’ll take ownership of high-impact infrastructure projects, ensure performance and security, and work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver resilient and scalable IT solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and support enterprise infrastructure: servers, storage, virtualization, and backup systems

• Administer Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and other core infrastructure services

• Configure, monitor, and maintain network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, and SD-WAN

• Manage and optimize virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V), and hybrid cloud environments (Azure, AWS)

• Lead projects including data center modernization, network redesign, and cloud migration initiatives

• Monitor infrastructure performance and conduct proactive capacity planning

• Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity solutions

• Ensure infrastructure compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards (HIPAA, NIST, etc.)

• Act as an escalation point for advanced infrastructure incidents and conduct root cause analysis

• Collaborate with cybersecurity, DevOps, and application teams on integrated solutions

• Document infrastructure designs, standard operating procedures, and configurations

Education & Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s preferred)

• Minimum of 7+ years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure roles

• Strong foundation in both systems administration and network engineering

• Relevant certifications preferred:

  • Systems: Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, MCSA, VMware VCP

  • Network: Cisco CCNP, CompTIA Network+, Fortinet NSE

  • Security: CompTIA Security+, CISSP (a plus)
