Responsibilities

1. Analyze and configure Mainframe DASD storage availability, SMS constructs, ACS routines.
2. Monitor, support, maintain, and enhance storage, backups, and data replication for Sysplexes.
3. Analyze and resolve Mainframe DASD space concerns.
4. Configure Mainframe DASD space capacity as needed.
5. Analyze and implement required SMS modifications.
6. Analyze and modify Mainframe ACS code as required.
7. Monitor DASD storage performance and space availability.
8. Process Mainframe SMS construct modifications via TSO logon.
9. Test all changes in a test environment prior to deployment.
10. Perform catalog reorganization and analyze data set retention requirements.
11. Configure Hierarchical Storage Management parameters.
12. Address SNOW ticket requests related to Mainframe Storage administration.
13. Reorganize control data sets as needed.
14. Support IBM Mainframe storage management using DF/SMS ACS routines.
15. Review storage thresholds and analyze DASD storage usage.
16. Provide DASD and storage requirement estimates and recommendations.
17. Configure DASD storage to address shortages.
18. Review backup schedules for recoverability.
19. Analyze and resolve DASD backup and data replication failures.
20. Document storage issues and resolutions in ticketing systems.
21. Collaborate with vendors and support teams for performance reviews.
22. Provide storage administration support and manage storage pools.
23. Perform problem diagnostics, backups, and recovery tasks.
24. Support 24/7 operations across multiple time zones.
25. Maintain documentation and assist in disaster recovery planning.
26. Support other mainframe teams and client needs as required.

Qualifications

1. Experience with z/OS, z/VM architectures.
2. Experience with DASD and storage management.
3. Knowledge of z/OS, z/VM, SMP/E, JES/EJES, TSO/ISPF, DFSMS, Capacity Management, VTAM, JCL.
4. Experience with IBM TS7700 series, EMC VMAX hardware, and replication software.
5. Support availability 24/7 across time zones.
6. Knowledge of MS Teams, SAS, JES3, SMF/RMF research, ISPF commands.
7. Educational background: Master’s degree in computer science, electronics engineering, or related field with 10+ years of relevant experience, or 20 years of relevant experience without a degree.
8. Ability to pass Tier 4/HIGH Background Investigation.
9. Location: Remote, USA, Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM EST.
