Responsibilities

• Analyzes, develops and maintains electronic information systems for a major university function or program.
• Interfaces with users to identify needs and oversees the preparation and compilation of resulting data and reports.
• Trains staff to use computers and the implemented system; instructs clerical staff on system use.
• Develops long-range planning of software/hardware purchases and developments; recommends all hardware, software and peripheral purchases.
• May supervise data entry and computing support personnel; designs new processes and procedures for maximum utilization of human resources.
• Administers and modifies database; performs systems analysis to ensure data integrity; designs all new computing processes; develops implementation procedures and schedule of new automated tasks.
• Represents the department with other administrative offices concerning system modification.
• May lead lower-level systems analysts.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
