Description

The Senior Client Server Database Analyst works as part of the Business Application team to lead, design, and develop web-enabled client-server applications and application infrastructure software using a variety of software development tools and database technologies. Is an application lead with the user community to develop application specifications and design web-enabled consumer applications to support university business practices.


Pursuant to the State of Texas Executive Order No. GA-48, this position researches, works on, or has access to critical infrastructure and requires the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the University infrastructure. This position requires personnel to be routinely reviewed to determine whether or not criminal history or continuous connections for the government or political apparatus of a foreign adversary might prevent the employee from being able to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure.

Required Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, or related field.
  2. Three years of technical and analytical experience developing data models, data mining, and segmentation techniques.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Master's degree in computer science.
  2. Progressive experience in general technology skills in areas such as IT infrastructure, data preparation, data engineering, ML operationalization, and data and analytics governance. Experience in dashboarding, data modeling, and data analytics.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of data analysis.
  • Ability to derive meaningful data analytics using multiple data sources.
  • Ability to research technical problems to the lowest level and come up with a solution.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze software requests to determine the requirements of the requests.
