Job summary

Applied Signal Technology (AST) is seeking a Principal Systems Administrator for an onsite role in San Jose, CA. You will manage IT systems across Windows and Linux, assist cybersecurity requirements, and contribute to 24x7 operations with occasional after-hours work.

You must have a STEM degree with 8+ years of relevant experience and an active TS/SCI clearance. Collaboration with teams and travel up to 10% are expected.

Qualifications

• Requires degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 8+ years of experience.
• Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Experience with scripting and automation.
• Experience with helpdesk operations and ticket resolution.
• Experience with audit logs collection and system hardening.
• Ability to work in a team in a demanding environment.
• Active and transferable TS/SCI clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Provide IT systems administration in a mixed Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux environment.
• Collaborate with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements.
• Create documentation and training on advanced IT processes and procedures.
• Travel up to 10% to other US locations as needed; may require after-hours work.
