Job summary

Applied Signal Technology (AST) seeks a Senior Principal Infrastructure / Networking Engineer to design and deliver high-capacity systems that process advanced communications for national security. You will work with experienced R&D teams and present briefings to stakeholders, with opportunities to travel up to 25%.

This onsite role in Salt Lake City requires strong Linux, virtualization, and networking expertise, plus a current TS/SCI with Poly clearance and U.S. citizenship.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree with 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with system development to support multiple programs.
• Experience with Python or similar scripting languages.
• Proficient with Linux, especially Red Hat based distributions.
• Experience with System Administration.
• Experience with enterprise networking equipment (Cisco/Arista/Juniper).
• Experience with virtualization (KVM, VMware, Hyper-V).
• Experience with network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP).
• Experience with configuration management (Puppet/Ansible/Salt).
• Experience designing networks and data centers.
• Experience verifying and validating software and systems.

Responsibilities

• Guide and oversee design, development, testing and delivery of high-capacity systems.
• Collaborate with R&D on system deployments for national security.
• Generate briefings and present material to teams, customers and AST Management.
• Communicate effectively in written and verbal form; work autonomously and in a team.
• Travel up to 25%.
