Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking a Systems Administrator Senior to support mission-critical systems and the FMV software suite. You will join a team focused on deploying systems and upgrading to cutting-edge technologies in FMV operations.

You will lead efforts to maintain, secure, and optimize computer systems, networks, and hardware across our environments, with opportunities to contribute to training and documentation for end users.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance required.
• 3+ years of related experience.
• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent seven years job-related experience.
• Proficient at applying advanced technologies, principles, theories and concepts.
• Strong understanding of engineering principles, concepts, practices and standards.
• Ability to communicate issues, impacts and corrective actions.
• Ability to clearly explain project topics to diverse audiences.
• Ability to clearly report relevant information.
• Ability to anticipate technology, process and skill needs.
• Proven problem-solving skills in complex environments.

Responsibilities

• Maintains workflows and reliable operation of computer systems, fixes network issues and updates equipment and software.
• Develops advanced technical solutions for management of networks, software, hardware, configurations and architectures.
• Troubleshoots complex system hardware and software issues.
• Develops plans for software installations and OS/software upgrades.
• Monitors and tunes systems for optimum performance.
• Ensures data integrity with standard software/hardware solutions.
• Leads data/media recoverability through backups and archiving.
• Audits hardware/software of workstations/servers for compliance with standards.
• Develops performance and security plans for network users.
• Evaluates existing systems and plans long-term strategies.
• Supports Full Motion Video TCPED and exploitation phases.
