Job summary

General Dynamics IT in Washington, DC is seeking a Systems Administrator to advance enterprise IT operations. You will monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and reliability across Windows, Linux, and virtualization platforms.

You will perform software installations, updates, and patch management, provide end-user and system support, and help implement new systems while documenting configurations and workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field; experience may substitute.
• Minimum of 5 years in IT support or system administration roles.
• Proficiency with Windows, Linux, or other operating systems.
• Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies.
• Scripting or automation tools such as PowerShell, Bash or Python.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot IT infrastructure components for optimal operation.
• Perform system administration tasks including software installations, updates, and patch management.
• Provide technical support to resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
• Support the implementation of new IT systems, applications, and infrastructure.
