Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. in Reston, VA, is seeking a Systems Administrator SME to support a U.S. Government operations center, overseeing server installations, AD, and ongoing system monitoring.

You will lead fault-tolerant configurations, perform patching, security updates, and upgrades, and collaborate with the customer to meet rigorous standards. Candidates must have 10+ years of related experience, TS/SCI with Polygraph, and US citizenship; strong independent judgment

Qualifications

• 10+ years of related IT experience.
• TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance.
• US citizenship required.
• Experience managing core IT services and complex systems with independent judgment.

Responsibilities

• Take the lead in initial installation, configuration and maintenance of servers including physical and virtual environments.
• Manage the Active Directory, and other core IT services for new Operations Center.
• Monitors systems performance and troubleshoots highly complex issues to ensure high availability and reliability.
• Support: Performs maintenance such as patch management, updates and backups.
• Plans and executes systems upgrades and hardware/software installations.
• Ensures systems are updated with latest security patches and software updates.
• Implements and maintains security measures to protect systems from unauthorized access and vulnerabilities.
• Collaborate with closely with customer to make sure all deliverables meet their standards.
• Drive innovation by resolving unexpected challenges and lean on our existing team at other locations whom support this customer.
