Job summary

RTX in Woburn, MA is seeking a Principal Systems Administrator to design, implement, and sustain secure Windows and Linux environments for classified programs. You will ensure 24/7 operations, integrate with Cyber Security, and drive end-to-end infrastructure solutions.

You will work with MECM/SCCM, PXE, OS imaging, and automation, while maintaining Active Directory and policy controls. On-site role with interim clearance and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Typically, bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 3+ years.
• Able to obtain a U.S. government issued secret security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
• Experience administering and securing Windows and RHEL servers.
• Experience with VMware virtualization.
• Experience with securing system configurations, system hardening.
• Experience with scripting.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain Windows and Linux enterprise environments in a 24x7x365 DoD setting.
• Patch management, vulnerability remediation, and compliance with STIG/SCAP/ACAS; coordinate with Cyber Security.
• Design, deploy, and maintain VMware ESXi/vCenter; manage VM lifecycle and host upgrades.
• Engineer imaging, deployment, and automation (MECM/SCCM, PXE, Windows imaging, OS upgrades).
• Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, and certificate-based authentication.
• Collaborate across teams to resolve complex infra, integration, and compliance challenges; operate independently.
• Support on-site DoD environment with occasional after-hours and travel up to 10%.
• Work independently with minimal direction in a fast-paced environment.
