Job summary

Charleston Southern University is seeking a Systems Administrator to manage on-premises and cloud infrastructure, including servers, storage, and virtualization. You will handle Microsoft 365 services and identity management, ensuring security, reliability, and disaster recovery across enterprise systems.

The role requires 4+ years in systems admin, expertise with Windows Server, virtualization, and Exchange Online, plus strong troubleshooting and documentation skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/IS or related field.
• 4+ years of progressively responsible experience in systems administration or related IT operations.
• Experience administering Windows Server and enterprise infrastructure technologies.
• Experience with Microsoft 365, including Exchange Online.
• Experience with directory services, identity management, authentication, and access controls.
• Experience with enterprise backup, data recovery, and system restoration.
• Knowledge of systems security, patch management, vulnerability remediation, and monitoring practices.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, monitor, and secure on-premises and cloud-based systems, virtualization, storage, and related infrastructure.
• Manage Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, email administration, licensing, security, and cloud-based apps.
• Administer identity and access management, including MFA, SSO, and access controls.
• Maintain enterprise backup and recovery systems and support disaster recovery.
• Perform system updates, patching, vulnerability remediation, and security configurations.
• Monitor system performance, capacity, availability, and utilization; troubleshoot outages and incidents.
• Assist with system implementations, migrations, upgrades, and infrastructure improvements.
• Document configurations, inventories, procedures, and recovery records.
