Job summary

Jobot is seeking a System Safety Subject Matter Expert in Pasadena, CA to provide technical leadership across the project lifecycle. You will identify, evaluate, and mitigate system risks and work with multidisciplinary teams to ensure hardware and software meet stringent safety requirements for spaceflight programs.

The role requires a TS clearance, a bachelor’s degree in engineering, and 10+ years of system safety experience in aerospace/defense.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline required.
• 10+ years of system safety engineering experience on aerospace/defense programs.
• Experience developing and communicating safety cases and safety documentation.
• Familiarity with safety review processes (SSWG/DoD NASA-like boards) and risk acceptance.

Responsibilities

• Lead system safety analyses for complex aerospace systems.
• Develop and maintain safety documentation (PHL, PHA, FHA, SHA, SAR).
• Participate in design reviews, safety boards, and test readiness reviews.
• Review hardware/software/test procedures for safety compliance.
• Coordinate with customers, program management, and stakeholders to ensure mission success.
