Job summary

Booz Allen is seeking a System Safety Engineer, Senior to lead hazard analyses and safety program execution for space or missile defense programs. You will develop safety analyses, craft mitigations, and present results to customers and leadership.

The role requires senior technical experience, ability to mentor junior SSEs, and the capability to work across teams while maintaining strict safety and security standards in a DoD-focused environment.

Qualifications

10+ years of experience in Engineering, System Test and Evaluation, or Safety Programs on Space or Missile Defense systems.
Experience conducting MIL-STD-882E safety analyses or implementing a System Safety Program.
Bachelor's degree in a Science, Engineering, Technology, or Mathematics field is required.
Ability to present to large groups and work in a team with engineers, suppliers, and customers.

Responsibilities

Develop hazard analyses, software safety assessments, system safety risk assessments and mitigations.
Analyze and recommend safety criteria in design, equipment, and procedures to control hazards.
Prepare and deliver presentations at technical reviews and customer briefings.
Flow down system safety requirements and verify implementation.
Assist in requirements development and verification.
Review models, specs, and design changes for system safety impacts.
Support customer and test range requirements and safety activities.
Develop technical documentation for safety board meetings and reviews.
Contribute to mishap investigations and identify corrective actions.
