Qualifications

• 10+ years in engineering, system test and evaluation, or safety programs for space or missile defense.
• Experience conducting MIL-STD-882E safety analyses or safety program implementation.
• Experience developing and evaluating system safety requirements.
• Ability to present to large groups and work in a team with engineers, suppliers, and customers.

Responsibilities

• Develop hazard analyses, software safety assessments, and system safety risk mitigation.
• Analyze safety criteria in design to control or eliminate hazards.
• Prepare and deliver presentations at technical reviews and customer briefings.
• Flow down system safety requirements and verify implementation.
• Assist in requirements development and verification.
• Review models, specs, docs, and design changes for safety impacts.
• Support customer and test/operational range requirements.
• Develop tests to ensure safety requirements are met.
• Prepare technical docs and presentation material for safety board approvals.
• Participate in mishap investigations and identify causes and corrective actions.
