Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Senior Flight Safety Systems Engineer to optimize, test, and integrate critical system tools for the Flight Safety mission. You will support conjunction assessment, ground threat deconfliction, and 24/7 FS operations, guiding a team and developing integrative technical solutions for leadership and partner agencies.

The role requires 8+ years in systems engineering or software integration with TS/SCI clearance and a polygraph.

Qualifications

8+ years of experience in systems engineering or software integration.
Active TS/SCI clearance with adjudicated polygraph.

Responsibilities

Lead integration of new data sources in legacy and developing tools.
Test software in controlled environments to minimize risks upon deployment.
Improve TTPs for flight safety and mission protection; update training materials as needed.
Execute Bash and Python scripts in Linux environments within classified networks.
Perform RSO ephemeris comparisons against terrestrial locations and secondary RSOs as required.
Screen TLEs and state trajectories against RSOs to mitigate collision risks.
Operate orbit propagating software, navigate GUIs, and deliver products to owners/operators.
Lead flight safety meetings and contribute to training and exercises.
Document software and training materials and provide on-the-job instruction.
