Job summary

Raytheon is seeking Senior System Safety Engineers for onsite roles in the greater Boston area. You will develop MIL-STD-882E compliant safety programs, perform hazard analyses, and ensure compliance with customer specifications and military standards.

Work across Systems Engineering, Software/Firmware, Electrical and Hardware teams to eliminate hazards and implement effective controls. Requires STEM degree and 5+ years' experience, plus ability to obtain a DoD security clearance.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with System Safety Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software/firmware, or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience writing technical reports and presentations.

Responsibilities

• Develop MIL-STD-882E compliant system safety programs and perform analyses.
• Conduct hazard and design analyses to ensure compliance with requirements and standards.
• Coordinate with customer safety reps and manage safety review processes.
• Collaborate across engineering disciplines to mitigate hazards and implement controls.
• Provide lifecycle safety oversight from startup through disposal and document findings.
• Prepare internal and customer-facing safety reports.
