Job summary

Northrop Grumman Corp. is seeking an experienced System Safety Engineer to join our Advanced Weapons team in Northridge, CA. The role focuses on safety analysis for secure missile weapon systems with on-site work and potential relocation assistance.

The ideal candidate will have MIL-STD-882 experience, ability to develop SSPP, PHA, FHA, and related hazard analyses, and strong communication with internal/external partners. U.S. citizenship and clearance readiness are required.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or relevant degree with 5 years of related experience, or MS with 3 years.
• Familiarity with electrical circuit design and MIL-STD-882 application to system safety.
• Experience documenting hazards with a closed-loop HTS and developing safety artifacts.
• Ability to work independently and communicate with internal and external customers.
• U.S. citizen able to obtain government security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform system safety analysis of military weapon systems.
• Participate in risk assessments, mishap investigations, and safety reviews.
• Prepare safety documentation: SSPP, PHA, FHA, SHA/SuSHA, FTA, SAR, Software Safety Analysis.
• Collaborate with customer counterparts and internal teams on security architecture.
